HELSINKI: Motorola, the world’s second-largest cellphone maker, gained market share in the second quarter while its larger competitor Nokia slipped.
Motorola’s market share rose to 21.9 percent, the highest level in more than five years, from 20.3 percent in the first quarter, the research firm Gartner said. Nokia’s share fell to 33.6 percent from 34 percent.
Market share for Samsung, the third-largest cellphone maker, fell to 11.1 percent in the quarter from 12.5 percent in the first period.
