HELSINKI (Reuters) – Mobile technology firm Nokia said on Thursday it had developed an HSDPA (High Speed Downlink Packet Access) module for notebook computers which Intel Corp. will provide to manufacturers.
The Finnish firm said the addition will allow notebook users increased choice to find the best wireless connection for their computers.
Nokia said the module would be part of Intel’s next- generation Centrino Duo mobile technology system, and be provided in a variety of notebook computers.
Nokia will manufacture the module, while Intel will oversee the platform design and software.
