NEW YORK – AOL said on Tuesday it has appointed Ron Grant as its new Chief Operating Officer and president.
The move comes a week after the online unit of media conglomerate Time Warner Inc. tapped NBC Universal Television president Randy Falco to be AOL’s new Chief Executive and chairman.
AOL is undergoing a restructuring after it decided to give away most of its services away for free to boost online advertising.
Grant served as a senior vice president of operations at Time Warner and had worked closely with Time Warner COO Jeff Bewkes on AOL’s new strategy.
