Telecom Italia said Monday that it had received an unsolicited offer for its Brazilian mobile phone unit, TIM Brasil, and that its board had asked management to negotiate a possible sale of the business.
Such an operation would give Telecom Italia the financial flexibility to pursue its business strategy of expanding in the European market and building a «next generation» Italian Internet and phone network, the company said.
